What a fun time in the school year when all the students learn how to relax, play, work and actively participate in music.  Our band already shows great promise, with the most advanced students and the beginners alike in an early morning experience.

Choir starts September 5th which should be another year of excellent singing and early morning groans turning into beautiful singing.

Originally from Russia, Ms. Olga holds a bachelor's degree in physical education and certifications in personal training, aerobics, Pilates and yoga.  Currently, she is working towards a master’s degree.

PE classes consist of warm ups, strength exercises and stretching. The students will learn new skills and coordination through games and team building exercises.

ART NEWS!

FHCS student holiday artwork will be on display in the River of Time Museum and Library lobby from now until New Year’s. Please stop by and check it out.   In November the students created fall still-life paintings. Some of these are hanging in the gym and some are in the display board outside the office. They used fall colors, pastels and watercolors to create their own composition. After the holidays we will be working with clay and 3-dimensional sculpture. If you have any containers, paper towel rolls, corks, film containers or other interesting shaped objects that you want to recycle, please send them in and we will make something out of them.

TECH NEWS!

The exciting tech news is that our new computers are here. We ordered 15 new iMacs with the new Leopard operating system for use in the computer room. These will be faster and have some new programs for us to work with. The current iMacs will be moved to the classrooms. Hopefully they will be up and running after the holidays. Thank you PTO!

SPANISH NEWS!

Rosetta Stone Spanish has been going great this year. Once the students know the basic vocabulary they move very quickly through the lessons. All the students, from fourth grade up, are learning Spanish on the computers and in their workbooks. We have also been playing some games and watching a Spanish television program.
