November 2008

Dear
Parents,
Even
with a week off in October, we managed to get a lot of work done. The
children are doing very well working without interrupting one another.
They are learning to wait patiently and place a hand on the side of a
teacher or student when needing to speak with someone already engaged in
conversation.
Children
are using their words to express their feelings. At times the tone may
seem a bit direct, but truly they are only working on identifying their
feelings and expressing them. In time, they will learn to express
themselves in a quiet manner. We have taught them independence, how to
unpack lunch, clean spills, put shoes on …
Our
classroom benefits from your purchases at the FHCS Book Fair by receiving
Scholastic books. We appreciate your support and send a special thanks to
the following students who donated books from our wish list: Ben B.,
Zachary and Maya S. and Isaac Kaps.
Upcoming in
November
We will
be learning about earth; its elements, history and people. Student will
also learn about the Pilgrims, Native Americans and work on turkey
booklets.
Cold mornings – sunny
afternoons
We spend
a lot of time outside in this weather. The children run and play and
sometimes are dressed too warmly. Please dress your child in layers.
Bring a change of clothes appropriate for the cooler temperatures. Please
remember to label all of your child’s clothing.
