Letter from Teacher
Dear Families,
I was so happy to see
everyone this week. I sure did miss you all over fall break. Our nocturnal
animal party was fun.
Please keep in touch with me via email at
lynette@fhcspto.org.
Thanks, Lynette
Our Week in Review
Fossils are so interesting.
Students really enjoyed trying to figure out how or where the fossils were
made. They even made their own fossils, which I hope they will bring home
to explain to you. |
Language:
Students
are being introduced to many concepts. We are working on building strong
sentences and on understanding the job of each word.
We are
also working hard in our reading groups. I like to focus a lot on
comprehension, but we also work on decoding and learning new sounds and
words using reading strategies. |
|
Math:
Our math
unit is telling time. I am pleased to see how well this group can tell
time. We will be doing some problem solving with telling time next week.
We also practice math facts every morning. Thursday, we played a great
game of Around the World. |
Cultural:
Many students have already completed their North
America maps. |
Special Messages
We are in need of plastic forks and spoons.
Water Bottles must ONLY contain water. Please do not put
sugar drinks in the bottles.
Don’t forget to ALWAYS pack a healthy snack.

Homework!
We are back to homework. This week’s
packet includes spelling words and math sheets. Students are working on
their own legends in class, so see if you can find a good legend to read
to your child. You may look at the library or find one on line. Maybe, you
even know one. Your child is writing the legend in class. Many have
already completed their rough draft. So, please do not help them write one
at home unless they want to do an extra one. |
