Hello
Families!
It sounds like everyone had a very relaxing fall break! I
am glad everyone came back safely and excited to return. I was fortunate
to have my mom come and visit me. We didn’t do much, but it was nice to
just catch up and relax a bit.
We are diving into projects this semester! We have started
our group state projects and will present them to the class soon. We are
also learning how to estimate, make a graph, and learn the units of
measurement. This project will get a bit messy on Thursday. Please
make sure your child brings in a work shirt as we will be weighing,
measuring, and counting how many seeds are in a pumpkin. I know this is
short notice, but if you would like to come and help our classroom at
12:30pm this Thursday, we would love your assistance. Also, if you
have a pumpkin carving knife, please send it to our classroom. We will
need it to cut open our pumpkins. Please send as many as possible.
Please know that progress reports will not be sent home
this week, nor is there a student of the week because of fall break. A new
homework packet will be sent home today. If your child finished the
optional math homework packet over break, please make sure they turn it in
for extra credit. Book reports are due next week! Please be ready
to present sometime next week.
Our November Book-It goals will be announced in next week’s
newsletter as well as our students who have met their October Book-It
goals. If your child has completed their Book-It goal for October, they
will receive a Pizza Hut gift certificate for a personalized pan pizza.
I know this may seem like a lot of information after coming
back from a long break. If you need some clarification, please let me
know. Thanks and have a great day!
