Welcome to Outdoor Environment

In support of the Montessori Philosophy which emphasizes the connection of the natural world, Coach Cody prepares the outdoor environment for students to learn by doing with both cooperative and individualized enrichment opportunities. Students will gain the skills to garden, maintain animal habitats, recycle, compost and more. Coach Cody will assist our teachers with science lessons by providing follow up lab experiences after individual lessons.  Gardening enriches our student’s lives and inspires others in the community around us to pursue and achieve environmental excellence.

Outdoor Environment is set up to:

• Support an outdoor learning curriculum in multiple disciplines from science and math to civics and more.
• Educate students on gardening and the importance of stewardship in caring for the earth as the source of our food.
• Provide hands-on, participatory learning and responsibilities.
• Educate students on composting, recycling and sustainability.
• Beautify and green our school grounds and help children discover the wonders of nature.
